world’s Giant Typewriter Eraser
Title:world’s Giant Typewriter Eraser
Location: Nevada
Description:Claes Oldenburg is most widely associated with the beginnings of the Pop Art movement of the 1960s. His whimsical and, at times, deconstructed forms of everyday objects transform the notion of how sculture is viewed and made. Throughout his career, he collaborated with his wife Coosje to create large-scale monumental installatons worldwide. This four-ton, 19 foot stainless steel and fiberglass sculpture depicts a giant bule and red typewriter eraser with the bristles of the brush turned upward in a graceful, dynamic gesture. This scale is the largest three sculptures the artist team created of the typewriter eraser.
